Twitpic hackers pronounce celebs dead

Hackers broke into Twitpic accounts for Britney Spears, Ellen DeGeneres and P Diddy and falsely broadcast that they had died.

The hacks were discovered on Sunday and the false posts were removed. Twitpic also shut down part of its service.

The post on Britney Spears' Twitpic account said: "Britney has passed today. It is a sad day for everyone. More news to come."

The posts on P Diddy and Generes' accounts were similar.
