Internet service provider UKFast has nutured a strong sponsorship-based relationship with local rugby team Sale Sharks and high profiel players Jason Robinson and Charlie Hodgson, with the aim of raising its profile amongst business customers.

Internet Service Provider UKFast has agreed a two-year deal to sponsor Sale and England player Charlie Hodgson. The firm has a four-year deal with the England premiership club and is its official website provider. It is responsible for hosting, developing and designing the club's online presence and handling all of Sale's e-mail services. Since the launch of the Sharks' redesigned Internet site in September, it has helped visitor numbers reach around 100,000 per week.

The Chinese Government has romped home to scoop Future Publishing's first ever "Internet Villain" award for its hard line against the online world. With its crackdown on online porn, political censorship and its decision to close thousands of internet cafes, authorities in China have managed to beat some of the net's nastiest people to win the award.

Unsurprisingly UKFast has welcomed its win of 'Best Business ISP' in the Future UK Internet Awards 2004. Last year saw Pipex take the same award:

UKFast, sponsor and official website provider of English Premiership club Sale Sharks has been named as Best Business Internet Service Provider at the Future Publishing Awards. The company was nominated by Future Publishing readers and attracted over 30,000 votes for the award, which assessed ISPs on speed, uptime and availability.

Manchester-based ISP and web host ukfast has predicted a rise in turnover amounting to 95% by the end of 2004, thus nearly doubling its previous fortunes:
