Disaster Recovery Engineer

Please note that the disaster recovery team are currently recruiting for both Windows and Linux engineers. Reporting to the DR team leader you will be:

  • Providing business critical support for client's business continuity
  • Maintenance of core backup systems for both Windows and Linux in either role.
  • Assisting with and maintaining customer service solutions via telephone and email
  • Liaising with account managers regarding DR improvements to client's solutions.
  • Installation and configuration of Windows 2003/2008 and Linux CentOS/Red Hat in either role.
  • Helping with technical pre-sales
  • Aiding with research and development.

Windows:

  • Be a team player who is enthusiastic and bright with a can-do attitude
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to multi-task, prioritise and be able to work on their own initiative
  • Be Microsoft Windows 2003+ certified
  • Have experience of Windows system administration in a networking environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with working experience
  • Have experience of Windows systems in a hosting environment.

Linux:

  • Be hugely passionate about technology
  • Be a team player who is enthusiastic and bright with a can-do attitude
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have the ability to multi-task, prioritise and be able to work on your own initiative
  • Be RHCE Red Hat certified or equivalent.
  • Have experience of Linux system administration in a networking environment
  • Have experience of Linux systems in a hosting environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with working experience

The ideal candidate will have:

Windows

  • Building/installing and supporting Windows 2003/2008 servers to meet customer requirements will require the candidate to have a working knowledge of Windows 2003 and 2008, Active Directory, DNS, IIS, Exchange 2007/2010, MSSQL 2005/2008, MySQL
  • Hardware experience and understanding of products and server hardware capability in general (Intel CPUs etc.)

Linux

  • Building/installing and supporting Linux based servers to meet customer requirements this will require the candidate to have a working knowledge of DNS, Apache/Tomcat, FTP, Email, MySQL/PostgreSQL or Oracle
  • HP &/or Dell server hardware experience and understanding of products and server hardware capability in general (Intel CPUs etc.)

One of the following levels of qualification: - an ideal candidate for this role would have one of the following:

  • MCSA/MCSE
  • MCTS/MCITP/MCM
  • VMware VCP
  • Citrix CCA
  • Storage vendor qualifications of similar level.
  • RHCE
  • RHCSA
