Dedicated Server Hosting vs Colocation

In order to best serve our diverse client base we offer dedicated and colocation server hosting. Despite both being viable hosting options, they each address different business challenges.

What is dedicated server hosting?

As a dedicated server client you rent an entire dedicated server from us. We remain the owner of the physical server, but you are granted complete control over the content and build.

Dedicated server hosting is ideal if you want to use it to perform mission critical operations or have high volumes of traffic. It is also ideal if you do not want to, or do not have, the finance in place to purchase a server outright.

What is colocation?

With colocation you rent space in our data centre to securely house and power your server. You retain ownership of the physical server - we simply look after it for you.

Colocation is ideal if you want the flexibility and control of owning a server but don't have the resource to maintain and securely store it. It is also an ideal option if you have already purchased a server and want to continue to gain returns on the investment made.

Which is right for me?

Whether you choose dedicated server hosting or colocation, we offer a secure and resilient hosting facility at a vastly reduced cost to setting up and monitoring a facility yourself. The need to purchase backup generators, UPS systems, source a bandwidth supplier and train staff to supervise the equipment 24/7 is eradicated.
